Magadala, meaning red, is a contemporary interpretation of the red dirt and earth that surrounds us. This artwork reflects the deep connection to land through the rich tones of red and ochre, symbolising the ground beneath our feet and the stories it holds.

The layered dot patterns represent the marks left in the dirt over time—footprints, movement, and the natural rhythms of Country. Flowing lines trace the pathways and tracks that connect meeting places, symbolising journey, connection, and shared experiences across the land. Through this work, the earth becomes a living map, carrying memory, movement, and cultural connection.
