ABOUT ME

I am a Wiradjuri Aboriginal artist creating and living on Ngunnawal/Ngambri land (Canberra ACT). I create contemporary Aboriginal art that is deeply connected to Country, culture, and lived experience. My practice is grounded in storytelling, using vibrant, earthy colours that reflect the land, nature, and the spiritual connections that exist between people, places and the dream time. Each artwork is an expression of identity, memory, and responsibility to carry culture forward.

I was taught to paint by my Elders, whose knowledge, patience, and belief in me shaped not only my artistic practice but also who I am as a person. From a young age, my family empowered me to create, encouraging me to paint and through my art, honour our culture. Although many of my Elders, including my grandparents, have now passed on, their presence continues to guide me. Their stories, teachings, and strength live on through my art, and I carry their legacy with deep respect and gratitude.

I began dot painting in primary school, learning the foundations of the practice and slowly refining my technique over time. As I grew, so did my understanding of the cultural significance behind the dots, symbols, and stories I paint. Through years of creating, I have developed my own contemporary style—one that respects tradition while allowing space for personal expression and growth.

My goal as an artist is to share my work with others in a way that honours my Wiradjuri heritage and keeps our stories alive. I hope my art creates opportunities for connection, learning, and reflection, and that it serves as a living continuation of the knowledge passed down to me by my family and Elders. Through my practice, I paint not only for myself, but for those who came before me and for the generations still to come.

Pop Tumut

Pop Tumut was a man who carried knowledge, strength, and generosity wherever he went. He lived openly and proudly about his culture, always ensuring that the people around him felt inspired to stand strong in who they were. His presence created a sense of belonging; he welcomed everyone with warmth and respect, making people feel seen, valued, and safe.

Although he has passed on, my Pop’s spirit continues to guide me. His strength, kindness, and cultural leadership live on through my art. Every piece I create carries his influence, honouring the values he stood for and the legacy he left behind.

Nan Tumut

Nan Tumut was a quiet soul to the outside world, but with her family she was full of warmth, strength, and character! She had a special way of making you feel truly important and deeply seen, without ever needing many words. Her presence was nurturing and comforting, a sense of love and care that is difficult to find.

When I create, I often feel closed to her. My art allows me to reconnect with the calmness I felt in her presence—relaxed, supported, and held with love. Painting becomes a space of reflection and grounding, where her spirit feels close and familiar.

Although Nan Tumut is no longer here, I continue to feel her guidance when I am immersed in my work. when creating my art, I honour her gentle strength and the love she shared with our family. My art becomes a way of staying connected to her, carrying her energy forward and keeping her memory alive in every piece I create.

Mum & Dad

My Mum and Dad are the two people in this world who have always had my back, no matter what. In everything I do, I carry the certainty that I am supported by their love, strength, and belief in me. That unwavering support gives me the courage to keep creating, growing, and trusting my path as an artist.

My Dad has always encouraged me to step into my creative side, consistently reminding me how special and meaningful my work is. His belief in my art has helped me recognise my own voice and confidence as a creator. My Mum encourages me to create from the heart—to let my heart and mind guide what I want to express through my art. She reminds me that honesty and feeling are at the core of meaningful storytelling.

My parents continue to inspire me every day. They have always made me feel that my art is doing exactly what I hope it will do: connect people. Their love, guidance, and belief are woven through every piece I create, grounding my work in family, purpose, and connection.
